Summary: I'm so glad we stayed at Galois hotel Shin-Okubo.
This hotel is in a fantastic location, a 2min walk from Shin-Okubo station, a 15min walk from the Godzilla head and 18mins from Omoide Yokocho. It's also in a quiet enough street that you can sleep peacefully. There's a 7eleven around the corner too which is really handy if you just want a snack or something.
The hotel has a public bath which was a life saver!! We walked pretty much everywhere we could, only taking the train for locations further out so being able to just relax in the public bath after a long day was simply perfect. One thing to note, it's not normal to wear a swimsuit or bikini when you go in. Luckily for me it was pretty quiet so I always had it to myself but just be prepared for this if you do decide to use it.
There are some free amenities too like toothbrush, face oil, hairbands etc. And a coffee/hot water machine in reception. You get free pjs, a fresh towel and a bottle of water every day.
The staff were super friendly and helpful too !!
The room is small but that is to be expected in Tokyo. The bed had a wall on 3 sides (we stayed in a double). There were 3 hangers and a desk in the room, a small bathroom with a small but deep bath/shower and a toilet. Despite being small, it was still very comfortable. My partner found the mattress a little too firm but it was perfect for me so it depends on your preference.

Summary: It was amazing! Room is a little smaller than we expected but overall we love it. Close to train station, they have public onsen, friendly customer service. They even provide all the necessities. Definitely coming back to hotel and recommend to our friends & family.

Summary: We loved our stay here. This was our first time visiting Japan, so we wanted to book somewhere central to the busy Tokyo areas. This hotel was perfect. It is steps away from Shin Okubo, which is only one stop away from Shinjuku, and has a 7-11 kitty corner to the hotel.
The hotel's amenities were also excellent, from complimentary toiletries and coffee to peaceful onsens that were free for guests. The staff were friendly, and the room layouts were terrific.
We will be back!

Summary: Easily accessible from the Shin-Okubo station, great for non fussy travelers who just want to be close to the action and dont care about having over the top amenities. Hotel was very clean and comfortable for the size of the rooms.

Summary: Way more space than we expected for Japan, and just what we needed for a nice place to sleep each evening.
My fiancée is quite tall so his knees touched the bathroom door while sitting on the toilet, but there’s not much to be done about that.
The shower was great!

Summary: A very small room but it was perfect for our 1 night stay prior to leaving Japan. The onsen was, of course, perfection! Staff was lovely and helpful at storing our luggage prior to check in and helping us call a taxi to get to Haneda airport. Bedroom was clean and neat, and bed was super comfy after an exhausting final day in Japan. We really enjoyed our stay and would come back!
