The pretty seaside village of Allonby is 3 miles, with pubs, shops, play ground and cafés. The larger harbour town of Maryport is a similar distance, with more amenities, and there are many other towns and villages along the coastline to explore. The Lake District National Park is a half hour drive, with stunning scenery and great walking opportunities, or the beach is suitable for those seeking something less strenuous.
