Positive: Its a lovely little cottage. Decked out in tasteful decor, furniture and lots of themed nik naks to make it all a holiday cottage feel. Well equipped with plenty of mugs, glasses and cutlery. Washing machine and dishwasher. Parking was excellent. The view marvellous (even caught a rainbow with my camera, from the garden) Cottage is in excellent position for Yorkshire dales and forest of Bowland. Lots to see and do. The Maypole pub was very nice and serves real ale and food. I would recommend anyone visiting here to go to *The Courtyard Dairy* cheese shop, I was blown away with the amount of cheese, made by individual farmers. Some of the tastiest cheese I ever had. Cottage is 'Dog Friendly' I didn't bring my dogs on this trip but useful to know. (No dogs upstairs) small enclosed yard at the back, fence is only about 3ft high. My current dogs would stay in, previous dogs would have been out, worth mentioning for anyone looking to book.

Negative: The traffic was very noisy. So I thought I'd sleep in the single bed in the back room. Unfortunately neither of the upstairs bedroom doors shut properly. They don't have any working mechanism in them to actually keep them shut. The front bedroom door has a big gap at the top and doesn't fit the door frame. Quite hideous and really needs attention. So I couldnt shut the noise out at all, so slept in the front bedroom with the more comfortable bed, and endured the noise (which is very busy and goes on all night, a man on a pushbike lost his life on this road while I was here, thats how busy) The frying pans have seen better days, non stick damaged quite a lot. Dinner plates are mostly chipped. Lucky I found a good one, as I was solo. Table and chairs in the kitchen are a bit rickety. I jacked up the table with cardboard! I didn't like having to switch the electricity on/off as requested on the note inside the cottage. I have a back problem and it was awkward for me to get to the far back of the cupboard under the sink to switch on/off appliances, also behind the TV. The switches are stiff, so I couldn't do it with something long either. Seems a bit ridiculous, doing this on peak weeks when someone's coming straight back in (and the cleaner) Took me 2 hours before I found the washing line.. its retractable for anyone reading 😂 I'd already been travelling and needed to wash a few things. Wasn't til I stood at the sink, I saw it out of the window!!
