This fantastic location is near the outermost edge of the Monterey Peninsula so you have easy walking access to the bay, beaches, miles of trails, Point Pinos Lighthouse (the oldest continuously operating lighthouse on the west coast), the Pacific Grove Golf Links and the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary. Hop in the car for a short, scenic drive to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row and historic old Monterey. Don't miss touring 17 Mile Drive through famous Pebble Beach. This central location is also perfect for day trips to Big Sur, Carmel Valley wine country and north to Santa Cruz.
This 2,684 sf home is full of character and special amenities like an automatic whole house generator that runs automatically if there is a disruption in power service due to storms. Guests can rest easy during the winter storm season knowing they will have heat, lights and appliances even during weather events.
Living Spaces:
Step through the bespoke metal gate with its namesake pelican to find a whimsical garden full of specimen plants and pollinator-friendly flowers and vines.
Pelican Gate is a two-level home with gracious living spaces perfect for gathering together, with glowing wood floors throughout.
The living room has a comfy sofa near the flat screen LG Smart TV (no cable; guests may bring their logins for their own streaming subscriptions) and a game table with four chairs and a selection of games; this table nicely doubles as a desk when desired. (Note: The stone fireplace is decorative in nature.)
The sun room is a pleasant library/reading room with a view of the garden, cozy seating and shelves filled with books.
Kitchen and Dining:
The kitchen is well-equipped to create meals to share when you dine in and when the chef wants the night off, a bevy of dining options can be found in Pacific Grove, Carmel, Monterey and beyond. The kitchen has unique counter-tops of Moroccan sea bed marble with embedded fossils and concrete counters with inset stones, sea-glass, shells and more, as well as stainless steel appliances including a side-by-side fridge and large Thermodor stove/oven. The kitchen also has a television. In the far corner is a cozy chair tucked into a quiet corner, a perfect space for the chef to enjoy a cup of tea while looking through cookbooks and scheming about upcoming meals.
An adjacent large dining table is a wonderful place to gather for meals and conversation.
Outside, in the front fenced garden area, there is a seating area and a BBQ grill.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms:
All three bedrooms are upstairs. An uplifting ocean mural graces the curved wall going up the staircase.
Bedroom #1 has a queen bed with a Casper mattress, and an en suite bathroom with a tiled shower. There is also a full-size fold down sofa which may sleep a child.
Bedroom #2 has a king bed (new Casper mattress 2024). This room also has space for a pack n play (provided) , if desired.
Bedroom #3 has a queen bed (inner spring mattress) and a closet with a small dressing area.
The full hall bath is located upstairs near the bedrooms and it has a shower with custom tile.
A powder room/half bathroom is conveniently located downstairs near the living spaces.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome with pre-approval, an additional pet fee and a signed pet addendum. The yard is fully fenced.
Parking for several cars is available in the driveway or just off the street near the entry gate.
