Spectacular night skies and stunning cloud formations over Indian head mountain visible right out your windows. One large room. Small kitchenette. The property is remote enough to see the Milky Way and experience absolute quiet, yet a short drive to trails, restaurants and shops. No TV, but a good WiFi signal. Non toxic cleaning and pure cotton linens.
The space
Simple, comfortable casita with spectacular views. Both the casita and main house are straw bale. Each building is facing toward its own spectacular view and located on either side of our garage. You can see thousands of stars through the tall windows right from your bed. Inside, is a revolving art collection. The casita is completely private, all you will see out the windows are hawks, Jack rabbits and beautiful landscape. There are two seating areas just outside the back and front doors of the casita for wonderful desert quiet and view. Limited kitchenette. Safest, star filled and most relaxing get away we can think of to refresh your spirit.

Casita has 2 private outdoor seating spaces.
Kitchenette has single induction burner with pots and pans for light breakfast, dorm sized fridge for yogurt, milk and such, toaster oven, microwave and kettle. Please do bring a cooler if you bring groceries. We do appreciate your contribution to our local economy by choosing from our many take out, dining and deli options in town. Drones are not welcome on our property or the state park. The casita is for registered guests only. Meet friends and family off property.
Other things to note
Borrego Springs is a true dark sky town complete with exterior lighting restrictions. Being in a desert we are as water and electricity conservative as possible. We have two grocery stores in town. Endless state park trails. Miles of quiet neighborhood roads for long strolls. Open desert (private land) around the casita is NOT available for hiking. This is a a wildlife protected property. No commercial photo, film shoots or drones. Please keep amplified sound including speakerphone chats inside the casita. No pets, smoking, outside guests, or small children.

Wind tends to be localized in the park. If it is windy on the property, it might be much less so on a trail and visa versa.
This is a very rare property situated against hundreds of acres of protected land.
