Beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath private townhome located in Imperial Beach, across the street from the ocean beach, and a short walk to the pier. A top to bottom renovation focused on providing luxury features that we wanted for our own use.
We’re locals — This is our personal staycation place, an adults only abode. You’ll be treated to clean, cool, modernism — from the white silica (glass) counters to the integrated appliances, bamboo floors, 2 king beds with high end mattresses, and two and a half bathrooms to die for. A linear gas fireplace. A truly special/unusual luxury master bath in a loft space with a big soaking tub — fits two comfortably, for real —huge windows and a view of Coronado Island as you soak in bubbles or salts and sip wine — or while you enjoy an open shower under a big rain head. Private garage! Small porch off living area, ground floor patio with grill and outdoor shower. Kitchen is a beautifully fitted compact space with a “sushi bar” — our guests always end up hanging at that bar while we work at the counter or stove.
You’ll want to stand at the kitchen sink and enjoy a beautiful breeze and a peak view of the ocean as you start your morning, and an amazing sunset as you prepare for dinner. Pink, mauve, violet... You’ll have the same experience from the ocean facing bedroom in front. Then again, there’s comfort to be found in the soothing shade of the ‘master’ in the back. Your choice!
Roll out of bed, have a cup of coffee while contemplating the sea, taking in the wonderful negative ions of the air, and the serenity of it all from the kitchen window, then walk across the street (you won’t need shoes), and you’re on the best section of white sand in Imperial Beach, a super relaxed, friendly, diversified urban beach community. There’s also a cafe right there and an awesome surf shop — IB is one of the surfing Mecca’s of the San Diego area. The location also doesn’t get any better for walkability to restaurants, beach park, local music events, parades, weekly farmer’s market, Tijuana River Estuary for nature walks, hikes and bike rides. A short drive to Border State Park — check out the border wall/fence — and horseback riding to/on the beach.
Expect an easy going way of life, there is nothing frenetic, pretentious or off-putting about this authentic, racially and ethnically diverse, humble little beach town — the southwestern-most beach in the USA. Mexico is walkable from here.
We don’t think of our beach home as a rental, but we are so busy at times... it’s a shame to let our special place sit vacant, when others could enjoy it, while helping us to cover the expenses. Please be aware that we do need to qualify prospective tenants — this isn’t a ‘book it and go’ place. We’ll need to speak with you to confirm that this is a fit for you, and for us. There will be strict terms of use — no smoking anywhere on the premises, no parties or group gatherings, no unauthorized overnight guests and no pets at any time. And there are some care instructions related to finishes in the house — a few simple ones, but must be followed.
Really, it’s all pretty simple. Isn’t this what living by the beach is supposed to be? Grab a bag, get minimal, feel the coolness and the warmth beneath your feet? Let your body bask in the sun, sea, sand and a big old bathtub or shower? Cook, eat clean, or grab a few tacos and a local brew, sleep until you’re done with it, work from the house, take a lot of walks, bike, take some runs and rides, swim, surf, body surf, float? Meditate, contemplate, practice, read, catch a good film. Laugh, share, love — a lot — then sleep. Repeat!
