Sup Our home is located close to great transport links, open green spaces, restaurants and shops. Our home is spread over 3 floors and has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, large living room, an open plan kitchen and dining room and a wonderful garden. This would be the perfect place for a family looking for a spacious place to stay in a quieter neighbourhood which is still easily accessible to Central London. The Space: Our home is located on a friendly residential street in Stoke Newington. The house is tastefully decorated and has decorative influences from our time living in Tokyo. As you walk into the private entrance, to your left is the the living room and study area. Walk through here and you will enter into the open plan kitchen and dining area. There is also a separate WC on this floor. On the first floor there are 3 bedrooms. Head up the stairs to the second floor and you will come to the family bathroom and master bedroom with en-suite bathroom. This is our home and as such you will find many of our personal items here - we ask that you treat our home with the respect that you would treat your own place! Please also be aware that our cat Cindy will be staying at the property whilst we are away. She is self sufficient and will be satisfied with the dry food we've left for her. She is gentle and likes a cuddle, and will tolerate a certain amount of clumsy handling by children without retaliating. KITCHEN / DINING AREA The open plan kitchen and dining area is the heart of the home and is where we spend most of our time. The room is filled with natural light and you can gain access into the garden from here. The garden has a large dining table which seats 6 people and is a perfect place to eat if you prefer to dine al fresco. The modern kitchen has everything that you would need during your stay if you fancy staying in one night and cooking a delicious meal. There are a variety of pots and pans, cooking utensils, plates, cutlery and glasses. You are welcome to use our Nespresso machine, which we will provide coffee pods for. The wooden dining table seats 6-7 people comfortably. LIVING ROOM The living room has high ceilings which creates a sense of space. There is a large comfortable sofa which is a great place to sit and relax after a long day out exploring what London has to offer. Please note that the TV does not have live channels. However by using your smart phone and laptops you will be able to connect Chrome Cast. The built in book cases are filled with a variety of books which you are welcome to read. There is also a large wooden desk in here. This is a great place to sit if you need to do some work whilst you are staying. BEDROOMS On the first floor there are 3 bedrooms. One of them has a double bed, one has a cot and the other one has a single bed and also childs single bed. The master bedroom is located on the top floor and had recently been refurbished to a high standard. It has beautiful dark solid wood floors and it is lovely and light thanks to the two large windows which allow plenty of natural light into the room. All beds will be spotlessly made up using hotel quality linen. We will also make sure to clear some space in the wardrobes where possible so you will be able to hang your clothes up and store your belongings away. BATHROOMS Both of the bathrooms have recently been refurbished to a high standard and they have beautiful authentic Moroccan tiles with geometric prints on the floors and walls which are a great and unique feature. The family bathroom has a freestanding bath, walk in shower, toilet and basin. The en-suite to the master bedroom has a massive walk in shower with a luxurious waterfall shower head, toilet and basin. Large fluffy white towels and toiletries will be provided for every guest. There is also a separate WC on the ground floor. Guest Access: Guests have complete access to the house. Additionally I’ve arranged for a concierge service to be available to you throughout your stay, providing you with free on-demand support for booking restaurants, tickets to shows, transport...or anything else you might fancy! You can also book additional housekeeping services like regular cleans or changes of bed linen. I hope that this will help you get even more out of your stay. Full details will be provided at check-in. Interaction with Guests: When I’m not there, you will be hosted by a professional hospitality company who I’ve engaged to look after you in my absence. They are on call to attend to your every need, as I would be. The Neighborhood: Stoke Newington is an old bobo neighbourhood full of good places to eat, drink and shop. The high street has several small supermarkets, a bookstore and a toy store. Church Street, which intersects it, is more chichi, with homewares, boutiques, a couple of children’s clothing stores and lots of cafes. Some highlights include: - Jaines and Son: Exquisite fish - Borough Wines: Fashionable wine shop - Meat N16: High-quality butcher plus good deli items and wine, can be very busy - Whole Foods: Organic supermarket - Newington Green Vegetables: Amazing selection, good value - Gallo Nero: Excellent family-run Italian deli - Akdeniz: The best among the area’s terrific Turkish grocers, always open. Their bakery two doors down sells Turkish and sourdough bread, baklava, Portuguese tarts and more. - The Bagel House: Old-style East End bakery - Farmers Market: Every Saturday from 10 - 2 - Cuckoo Wines: Friendly neighbourhood off licence with good advice and selection Also Clissold Park, Hackney Downs (both have playgrounds and Clissold has a paddle pool in summer and tiny zoo) and Abney Park, one of London’s most picturesque cemeteries. Restaurants There are many, but some of our favourites are - Escocesa: Modern Catalan seafood - The Shakespeare: Favourite pub. No food, but you can bring in pizza from next door. Children welcome until 7pm - Fingers Crossed: Nice Kiwi café close by - Lardo Bebe: Inventive pizza in attractive setting, welcomes families - Londesborough: Roast pub lunch, a British Sunday ritual. Phone ahead for table. - The Haberdashery: a good cafe with excellent coffee and fine breakfast. On High St, near the intersection with Church St. FURTHER AFIELD Dalston Hipster heaven, with bars, restaurants, and nightclubs and a famous East London street market on Ridley Road. Try Dalston Curve, a large enclosed community garden where you can get a snack or a beer and children can play; Oto, a live music venue and café run by a Japanese/ German couple; Gujurati Rasoi for modern Indian; and art deco neighbourhood cinema, The Rio. (15 minute walk south on Stoke Newington High Street or 5 mins by frequent bus. Keep heading south to reach Haggerston, Shoreditch.) London Fields, Broadway Market Park popular with picnickers with pretty lido in heart of pleasant Georgian neighbourhood. Broadway Market, which runs from bottom of the park to Regents Canal, hosts a famous Saturday foodies’ market and has attractive shops and cafes. (25 min walk). Regents Canal is great spot for walking, and spans the city. Upper Street, Islington Bustling neighbourhood full of big chain stores, but also plenty of attractive restaurants, bars and Camden Passage shopping strip. (bus from Manse Road or walk there along Canal) Try the Charles Lamb for a drink or a meal; Oldroyd, unexpectedly good little bistro near Angel station; or Sushi Show in Camden Passage for authentic Japanese in unpretentious takeaway with a few seats. Getting Around: Our home is in a convenient location in terms of being able to get around London easily and quickly. The nearest station is Rectory Road ( 5 minute walk) which has connections to the Overground line. Seven Sisters is a 13 minute bus ride away. From here you will be able to connect to the Victoria line which takes you down through the centre of London. If you would prefer to travel by bus, there are a variety of bus stops along Manse Road and Stoke Newington High Street.
