A recent listing with VRBO, Wren cottage is a unique & lovely little cottage in the centre of Marlborough and just a 1 minute walk to the award winning High street with plenty of independent shops & pubs. It is located on Silverless Street, which is considered to be the oldest and prettiest street in Marlborough. It is also a great location for lovely pub walks (details in the cottage), as well as walks over the Marlborough Downs.
The cottage has a recently modernised kitchen & bathroom but also maintains all its period charms including low beamed ceilings, exposed timber walls as well as a large bedroom and a storage room for bikes etc.
The lounge has a timber beamed ceiling, sofa, dining table & chairs ,smart TV with Netflix , electric log burner & electric wall heaters.
The kitchen is via a low beam corridor that was fully modernised in May 2023 and includes electric hob/oven, microwave , washer/dryer and fridge.
Stairs to the bathroom are steep with a partial low ceiling that might require a bit of "ducking" and therefore may not be suitable for the elderly! This cottage is quaint & quirky and this means a few low ceilings - but we feel that this adds to its charm !
The bathroom has been recently modernised with fully tiled shower room.
The bedroom is really spacious, with low beamed ceiling , king size bed, dressing table and plenty of storage space.
Although there is no outside space, The Green, is just a 30 second walk away & is perfect for picnics, sunbathing or just chilling - a really lovely spot of grass, surrounded by 16th and 17th century houses !
There is both some 2 hr parking on the street(from 4pm to 11pm its free and free Sundays) as well as some free parking on the street. Free parking is also available on The Green (at the end of the street) and there is paid parking and car parks 1 min away on and off the High St.
