The surrounding countryside offers popular walks such as the ‘Parrett trail’ and ‘Monarchs way’ and the nearby pretty town of Beaminster (4.5 miles) boasts good restaurants, artisan shops, local produce and is host to festivals celebrating the arts. National Trust Mapperton, Montecute and Forde Abbey are all within easy reach, and are favourite Jane Austen and Thomas Hardy film locations. The historic towns of Bridport and Dorchester are both close by and hold markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The spectacular Jurassic coast is within 12 miles where fossil hunters, boat trips, beaches and fishing await, as well as the seaside towns of West Bay and Lyme Regis.

These are beautifully presented, each with a smart TV, skylights with electric blinds and ensuite bathrooms. All bathrooms have WCs, walk-in showers and two have additional baths. Adjacent to the property is auxiliary accommodation, with the ground floor providing a boot room and wet dog area for the main property. Within this boot room, a spiral metal staircase leads to a separate first floor self-contained studio apartment, with double bed, sitting area, kitchenette and bathroom with walk-in shower.
Outside, the enclosed garden is perfectly set up for al fresco dining and the extensive lawn is ideal for children to run free or play in the shepherd’s hut, while the adults relax and take in the stunning views. A BBQ, croquet set, and table tennis are available for garden use.
