This apartment is a lower unit in a fourplex near Freret St. The foyer serves as a small office, library and a place to sit and meditate or read one of the many books provided. There is a living room with a full-sized sleep sofa with a new memory foam mattress, two separate bedrooms, dining room, newly remodeled kitchen with granite counter tops, stainless steel refrigerator and new dishwasher. One bathroom is a full bath with shower and the rear is a half bath.
THE SPACE
The first bedroom has a queen-sized bed, chest and closet; and the second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, chest and closet. Because this is a small apartment, for comfort, the maximum number of adult occupants is 5. In the past 6 adults have tried to share the space but some found it too confining. Your comfort level is the determining factor. The living room and back bedroom have 32" televisions and DVD players. There is a collection of movies and music CDs for your enjoyment. The back yard has been landscaped and now has two patio areas - one area seats 4 and the other seats 6.
GUEST ACCESS
Guests will have a kitchen with pots/pans, dishes and flatware for 8, coffee maker, blender, toaster oven, and waffle iron. There is an energy efficient washer and dryer for your use in the garage. The cabinets are stocked with condiments, salt/pepper, spices, sugar, honey, coffee and tea. Extra sheets, towels, and blankets also provided.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Freret Street is located Uptown and is dubbed the Freret Arts and Entertainment District. It is an area that is experiencing revitalization to bring it back to its former glory. The Freret Corridor is just 8 blocks long but can claim great restaurants, cafes, a bakery, unique bar and other local flavors. Every April, the Freret Street Festival blocks the street for food trucks, musicians and over 200 vendors. The first Saturday of each month, at the corner of Napoleon and Freret is the Freret Street Market. The market is divided into food, art and flea, and is a great place to explore, eat and enjoy the music. Eat too much? Stop in at Anytime Fitness, open 24/7. Explore BrottWork Design Studio to see custom art glass or Freret Clay Center nearby. From the apartment it is just 7 blocks to St. Charles Ave. which is a major parade route during Mardi Gras. The St. Charles streetcar takes you to downtown, the Convention Center, Harrah's Casino and the French Quarters. It's 2.5 miles from the Super Dome and just a 15 min. walk to Tulane and Loyola Universities. For Jazz Fest, the Fairgrounds are just 5.17 miles away by car. Oshner/Baptist Hospital is a few blocks away.
SECURITY
A manager lives in one of the lower units and is available as needed. Guests are encouraged to enjoy themselves and party responsibly. If you are the type who would prefer to stay in the Quarters, then this is not the place for you. Come, enjoy the City. Hopefully this will be a place you will enjoy coming to at the end of the revelry.
GETTING AROUND
The bus stop is at the corner. It is a 20-30 min. drive from the airport depending on traffic. One off-street parking space is provided for our guests.
HOUSE RULES
Currently only two of the apartments are rented. Guests are expected to respect the privacy and atmosphere of the building. Party responsibly. Talk with me first about pets as they may be allowed. Smoking outside ONLY.
