Take a bike ride, walk or a two minute drive and you will find yourself in the middle of charming downtown St. Francisville with lots of shopping (antiques, home furnishings, gifts, clothes, nostalgic candy and ice cream shoppes), historic homes and beautiful churches, and well-known restaurants like The Magnolia Cafe, Restaurant 1796 (at The Myrtles) and The Saint (at the St. Francisville Inn).
If you're visiting for a wedding weekend, the house is conveniently located three minutes or less from each of the downtown churches: Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Grace Episcopal and United Methodist.
Wanting to be active? Tunica Hills, various nearby trails, and downtown sidewalks are all great options. Plus, the cycling here is renowned! Straight from the house, you can do a beautiful ride past botanical gardens, The Myrtles Plantation and beautiful tree covered countryside!
Tucked away on a quiet corner, your views from the house are mostly trees and the occasional deer who run through the neighboring field. It's the best of both worlds - easy access to downtown and a rural scene!
The house itself is fully equipped for a fun and relaxing get away! All you need is your suitcase! We've got a fully stocked kitchen (trash bags, ziplock bags, paper towels, parchment paper and soaps), a coffee grinder with beans and coffee maker, tea, and plenty of plates, utensils, pots, pans, etc. - including kid friendly dishes. Also ready for you to shake up or pour your favorite drink is a wet bar, including an ice maker and sink.
The living room has a large 75" TV ready to connect to any of your streaming platforms for quality viewing of sports games or movie nights.
The master bedroom has a very comfortable 10" memory foam king size mattress that will surely give you a restful night's sleep. The second bedroom has two full beds great for kids or adults! If you would like a pack-n-play set up for any little ones on your trip, please let us know ahead of time and we'll make that available as well!
A shared hallway bathroom is complete with a tub/shower combination and lots of towels!
A large mudroom is equipped with all your laundry necessities, including a full ironing board in case you want to dress up for dinner. It is also a great spot for a comfy pet setup, complete with door to the outside for easy access.
While we're not known for our pleasant year-round weather, the back patio is still a welcome place for you to enjoy your favorite evening toddy or morning coffee. And there are two cruiser bikes for your leisure ready to be used to tote around some treasures from town!
