Enjoy a getaway at Golden Chain Ranch, 45 acres on the east shore of Phoenix Lake, in the Mother Lode Country. Bring yourselves or friends and family, as we can sleep up to 12 comfortably. Standard rate is $300 per night for up to six guests; additional guests are $30/night each. The ranch house is quiet, rustic, and scenic, with wood paneling, open beams, antiques, a brick fireplace, and a spectacular pine-slab bar. It has two outdoor areas, a patio and a screened rear deck with hot tub and raised marble-top table. Not to mention grassy side, front, and back yards with shade trees, great for playing bocce ball and croquet or basketball. Walk on trails--see video--down to the meadow by the lake or take a stroll around the ranch. Biking the beginner to intermediate trails may be done at your own risk. You can walk to Indigeny Reserve, a nearby distillery of fine ciders and vodkas.
The beautiful new kitchen has granite counters and a granite-topped island, new appliances, and is fully equipped. The dining area seats six, and several more can dine at the island and bar. All five bedrooms have ceiling fans and the upstairs bedrooms all have window air conditioners. The beds have new linens, duvets, and mattress pads. We have WiFi and the living room has a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. A great room has comfortable sofas, a full-size pool table, and board games.
We are centrally located in the Mother Lode Country, with Sonora 6 miles and Columbia and Jamestown both about 8 miles. Murphys is about 25 minutes. The ranch is minutes from restaurants, shopping, hospital, and movie theaters along Highway 108. Large, scenic lakes such as Don Pedro, Melones, and Pinecrest and Dodge Ridge ski resort are about 30-45 minutes away, and Yosemite National Park is about an hour and a half drive. Columbia airport is about 20 minutes away. Driving, we are 2.5 hours from San Francisco, 2 hours from Sacramento, 1 hour from Modesto.
