Enjoy a "welcome" bottle of wine you will find in the kitchen with two glasses! Newly updated, freshly painted and refinished hardwood floors. New furnishings and rugs, and redesigned front yard patio add to the ambiance. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring in the sunshine; an interior designer's 1950's house with nice updates. If you like sunshine and privacy in a convenient location, this is the place for you. Ideally located in a quiet family neighborhood. Shopping and local sights are close-by.
Relax in a tastefully furnished real home, with original art and hardwood floors throughout. The accommodations are comprised of a small sunny bedroom with super comfy Queen bed, modern bathroom (shower over tub) very large combination living room/dining room, floor-to-ceiling windows looking out to a view of the backyard patio filled with raised beds and fruit trees.
PLEASE NOTE: The backyard patio is dedicated to the Studio rental only; typically there are guests booked in the Studio; they have their own private space and dedicated entrance, which is accessed only through the back patio gate at the top of the driveway to the right of the garage. Inside the main house, there is one shared wall at the end of a long hallway with sound mitigation. Your paths may or may not cross. For your privacy, living room and dining room windows on the patio side have shades (as does the Studio.) Pooches are permitted in the studio only.
The kitchen has a big vintage gas stove in working order with oven, all of the cooking accoutrements, coffee maker, French Press or pour-over for making coffee. Teas provided and a " welcome" bottle of wine - BYO coffee. The house is heated by a gas forced-air furnace which is pre-programmed. Scent-free laundry detergent used on all of the 100% cotton towels and linens and EO bath products. Note: Vintage 1950 original to the house Western Holly gas stove - can be a little finicky. Turn burner on slowly - RIGHT for on, LEFT for off. Please be sure all burners are off before you leave the house.
This a private, light and quiet spot, except for the birds, yet centrally located; five minutes to downtown Monterey, Laguna Seca Raceway or CSUMB and ten minutes to Monterey Bay Aquarium. There is a 24-hour Safeway and Walgreens just 2 minutes away, in case you have any midnight cravings! Trader Joe's and Whole Foods are 10 minutes away.
Located in a wonderful little sun belt, perched high upon a hilltop with a nice view of Monterey Bay in a very quiet residential neighborhood, so typically we are above any fog – especially during the summer season when the rest of the Monterey Peninsula could be socked-in! Located at the top of a street which dead-ends in a cul-de-sac so there’s not a lot of through traffic and super-easy street parking right in front of the house on the street.
This is a great area, centrally located between Highway One and Highway 68, CSUMB, Laguna Seca Raceway, near the rec trail, Frog Pond, beaches and terrific hills for a morning or evening stroll. No smoking on the property.
Enjoy a peek of the bay in the super sunny front yard with fruit trees and gardens; you will find this to be a comfortable oasis. A foodie, interior designer and thirty-year resident of the Monterey Peninsula, I am a great resource of information if needed. There an FAQ binder with menus from my favorite restaurants. If you need restaurant recommendations prior to arrival, we are happy to oblige.
Your space includes bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, dining room and large front yard patio with a peek of the bay. This home is intended to be a quiet sanctuary space for visitors - no partyers or additional guests/visitors. If you are concerned with the studio rental using back patio access please inquire prior to booking.

House not suitable for kids over 2 years, (unless an infant and not walking.) Stays lasting longer than seven days may incur additional cleaning fees and will be discussed and finalized prior to booking.
