Summary: The consumer interface and communication was horrible. When booking the hotel it states self-parking is available. Only after you book the room do you get an email that links to forms you must fill it to check in, and that is where it is disclosed the self parking is $50 per day. In addition we didn’t receive the forms to check in until we were actually on the plane flying to San Diego. By pure luck i happened to check my email to find out that i had to fill out an extensive set of questions, including uploading my photo and driver license, all of which had to be done at least 30 minutes prior to arrival or we could not have checked in. My family flew 2500 miles to San Diego and it was only luck that i could get into the unit late at night because i happened to check my email to find out that we had to file out a whole questionnaire before we could check in. Why this wasn’t disclosed as soon as the room was booked instead of a few hours before we arrived is very poor communication. It is also not disclosed that the self parking is off site. So we had to walk in downtown San Diego, with my family and luggage, late at night around a lot of homeless to get from the parking to the hotel. it felt very uncomfortable with my family. Lastly we needed to extend our stay by one day. At most hotels this would be a simple phone call to a front desk. At this hotel it was no less than 5 phone calls over 2 days requiring over 3 hours of phone time to simply extend one more day.
