Deck features 180 degree views of Tomales Bay, al fresco dining, sunset cocktails and star / fog gazing from the cozy hot tub. Simple modernist floor plan features open living under a wood ceiling. Every room is filled with natural light and sweeping bay and sky views. Detached studio is the perfect place to write your first novel or as guest quarters with en suite bath.
The cottage is set in the heart of Old Inverness -- one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in California. Enjoy walking in every direction. Hike or bike up up Inverness Ridge with sweeping views over the National Seashore and the Pacific Ocean; bike or drive to Shell Beach to swim and chill; wander down to the village for dinner at the Saltwater Oyster Depot; or simply relax on the deck watching the ever changing view.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
This is NOT a short term rental and priced accordingly. The low nightly price contingent on a minimum one month stay. Further discounts for longer stays up to 9 months.
We are seeking like minded folks looking to settle in, stay awhile and get to know the place. A well-earned break from the daily grind? A yoga retreat? A writing sabbatical? A retirement test run? Or simply a yearning to hang in Inverness for a few months.
Stays are limited to max of 2 full time occupants. The studio is available for visiting guests but not intended for full time occupancy.
We love our neighbors. We all love the peaceful vibe of the neighborhood. Absolutely no excessive noise, parties or disruptive activity of any kind. Maximum of 4 people overnight.
THE FINE PRINT:
1) The post images are shown with staged furniture. The actual furnishings are more modest but comfortable. We are in the process of gradually updating the interior.
2) The kitchen and bathrooms are a bit dated (think 1990's) but perfectly functional. Same goes for outdoor grill. Small older Weber -- works great.
3) The hot tub is also dated but still lovely to soak in. The jets don't work but the filter, heater circulation pump work well. If you would like to use, guests are asked to do a simple water test every few weeks. Instructions are provided.
4) We are dog lovers but dogs are allowed only by permission. We live in a very tight knit neighborhood. Dogs must be mellow and well behaved. No more than one. No mean breeds.
5) Cottage includes with high-speed internet and WIFI. Speeds can be up-grade speeds if needed.
6) There is no TV in the cottage or studio. We prioritize getting out and enjoying the natural world. You are, of course, welcome to stream from your devices or bring your own TV (we might even have one in the closet).
7) All utilities are included.
8) All pillows are down/feather. Please bring your own pillows if you are allergic.
9) This a mid-term rental. Basic bedding and household items are provided but you are welcome to bring your own linens, etc if you prefer.
