Shilbottle is located midway between the picture perfect coastal village of Alnmouth to the east and the historic market town of Alnwick to the north west, both being a mere 4 miles from your door. Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland and film location for Harry Potter’s ‘Hogwarts’, is a popular visitor attraction. Another place thats worth a visit is Alnwick Gardens - a spectacular interpretation of a formal garden, including a grand cascade waterfall and where guests can dine in the restaurant of the largest tree house in Europe. There is a wide array of facilities available within this lovely market town, including independent shops, tea rooms, a cinema/playhouse and one of the largest second-hand book shops in the UK. The pretty seaside village of Alnmouth boasts a vast golden sandy beach and there is a variety of good restaurants, pubs, tea rooms and gift shops.
