Located in the Olympic rain shadow, our winter days are warmer and drier, while summer days are cooler than Seattle. This west-facing waterfront home provides an exceptional level of privacy and tranquility.
Lovingly maintained with recently renovated bathrooms, this unique mid-century modern home features soft luxury linens, light-blocking curtains in the bedrooms, and a complete cook's kitchen. It's well-stocked with quality cookware, a coffee maker, electric tea kettle, sharp knives, and more. Both bathrooms are fully equipped with fresh towels, toiletries, and other essentials to ensure your comfort.
Grill out on the deck while watching and listening for eagles, seals, and whales. Relax with a beverage around the fire table. The large covered glass-sided deck allows enjoyment of these activities in all weather conditions. Alternatively, curl up with a good book and gaze out the picture window from our favorite swivel chair, Buttercup.
In harmony with its era's minimalism while embracing current technology, the home offers two smart televisions, high-speed fiber internet (100 Mbps up/100 Mbps down), WiFi, and cell phone reception. Games, books, and puzzles are also available for your use.
Main floor: primary bedroom with a full en suite bathroom, dedicated workspace with an electric standing desk & smart monitor setup, secondary bedroom with a smart TV, secondary ¾ bath with shower, kitchen, living room, dining area, and laundry room with a large capacity washer and dryer.
Upstairs loft: spacious additional sleeping area with a queen bed and a Peloton bike.

Clamming, crabbing, and fishing are seasonally available on Holmes Harbor. Licenses and more information can be obtained at our local Ace Hardware store. While we don't provide watercraft, you're encouraged to bring your own or rent from a local rental company. If manageable in size and weight, you can carry it down the stairs or launch from the boat ramp in Freeland by the playground.
During the right season, feel free to pick apples, raspberries, rhubarb, or herbs for your enjoyment. We prioritize environmental consciousness and refrain from using pesticides or other chemicals.
You'll have the entire place to yourself, except for the garage.
We can host up to 6 people at a time, but due to the quiet nature of the neighborhood and septic system limitations, we cannot accommodate parties or events. If you have young children, consider the spiral staircase to the loft and the proximity to the 35’ bluff to ensure a relaxing vacation.
Whidbey Island experiences windstorms (typically in winter) that may occasionally cause power outages. Usually, power is restored within 24 hours.
