-BEDS & BATHS-
A key component of a clear mind is rest, so we’ve ensured that you’ll get a good night’s sleep in Sawtooth House’s two bedrooms. Both bedrooms feature king-size beds, sumptuous linens, and new mattresses. Plus, there’s no street noise nor light pollution here, so you can dream uninterrupted.
The home contains one bathroom, which has new fixtures (including a glass-walled walk-in shower), plush towels, and luxurious bath products. And the creative cabin contains a half-bath and additional sleeping area.
-KITCHEN & DINING-
Find culinary inspiration in the fully equipped kitchen, which includes all the tools and appliances a chef could want. You’ll find a gas stove with hood, oven, full-size fridge and freezer, microwave, and dishwasher, plus extras like a French press, cast iron cookware, and a kettle. The black appliances and cabinetry add a touch of drama and make every meal feel like an episode of Chef’s Table!
When it’s time to eat, pull up a chair at the indoor dining table adjacent to the kitchen, which seats at least 4. Or, opt for an al fresco meal on the back patio.
-LIVING SPACE-
The clean lines and design focus continue into Sawtooth House’s living room, where you can kick back and relax after an invigorating hike or a productive brainstorming session. The skylight allows natural light to drench this room during the day, and it serves as a window to the stars at night. Put a record on and curl up in the living room next to the fireplace- or just revel in the sounds of silence. There is one day bed in the living room, looking out over Pipes Canyon.
To get your thoughts and energy flowing, head to the yoga room and “creative cabin” to find dedicated space for creativity of all kinds.
-OUTDOOR SPACE-
Some of the favorite features of Sawtooth House are actually found outside; step out into the backyard and patio area to connect with yourself, your companions, and the desert. The BBQ, fire pit, and horseshoes make for a fun evening of social time, while the hot tub, cowboy tub soaking pool and outdoor shower offer opportunities to relax and refresh.
-ESSENTIALS-
The property includes free parking for a couple of cars.
Sawtooth House also has WiFi, central heating, and air conditioning, so you’ll always be comfortable and connected.
Please contact us if you have any questions about the home or the area in general. We hope to welcome you soon!
** Cleaning Protocols ***
As the only professional management company in the area, we have always maintained exceptional cleaning standards. We pay above the living wage standards; 100% of your cleaning fee is paid to the cleaners (i.e. no profit to us) and we insist on a professional level of cleaning between guests. We love the High Desert for a lot of reasons - including the open spaces, lack of crowds, and dry weather that we believe make it a safe place to visit.
Guest Access:
You will have the entire house to yourself including the yoga room and creative suite. The far garage is not accessible.
The Neighborhood:
Pipes Canyon is one of the most sought-after locations in the High Desert. It’s close to everything – and yet very much set apart with next to no light or noise pollution. The area is surrounded by dramatic flat-top lava buttes, towering and weathered boulders, and an abundance of Joshua Trees.
Pipes Canyon is immediately adjacent to the Sand to Snow National Monument as well as the Pioneertown Mountains Preserve, both offering endless hiking and exploring opportunities, and the West Entrance of Joshua Tree National Park is about 30 minutes away by car.
Although you may be tempted to spend your whole trip exploring Pipes Canyon, many more area highlights are accessible within a short drive:
• Pioneertown (10-minute drive) - Put on your ten-gallon hat and stroll down Mane Street of this Wild West-inspired town, also known for Pappy & Harriet’s, a notable restaurant and venue.
• Yucca Valley (20-minute drive) - Convenient stop for chain stores and local eateries, like Carla's Route 62 Diner and C & S Coffee Shop
• Joshua Tree Village (20-minute drive) - Quirky strip of boutiques and restaurants, including Coyote Corner, Space Cowboy Books, and the rustic Joshua Tree Saloon
• Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum (20-minute drive) - As far from a stuffy gallery as you can imagine, this outdoor sculpture garden contains a unique collection of folk-art.
• The Integratron (20-minute drive) - New age-y healing destination with a sound bath, originally designed by ufologist George Van Tassel with the goal of reversing the aging process.
• Palm Springs (45-minute drive) - Artsy town known for vintage shopping, art galleries, and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.
• Mt. San Jacinto State Park (90-minute drive) - Expansive, hilly landscape with foot and horseback trails surrounding 10,834-foot Mount San Jacinto.
Of course, let’s not forget about the essentials. Everything you need is within about 15 minutes by car:
• Closest supermarket: Vons
• Closest liquor store: Yucca Valley Liquor
• Closest pharmacy: Rite Aid Pharmacy
• Closest bank: Wells Fargo Bank
• Closest gas station: Sinclair
Getting Around:
Many roads in the high desert are dirt, so please take it slow. While a car is required to get around, a four wheel drive car is not, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain.
