Paddocks Cottage is a bright, cosy cottage with beamed ceilings and plenty of character creating a rural retreat from the stress and noise of daily life. There is a large spacious bedroom which includes a double bed, a single fold out bed and with a cot on request and an ensuite shower room. Downstairs there is a good quality double sofa bed in the large sitting room. There is comfortable seating and also a dining table and chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with a cooker, fridge, microwave, all utensils and saucepans to facilitate any home catering.
The property is accessed via stone steps from the parking area. An alternative access has two lower steps from the lane side.
A smart television, books, games, puzzles and fibre wifi are available. Age appropriate children's toys can be provided as well as baby/toddler equipment.
The cottage is powered from our solar panels and Tesla Powerwall battery with any additional electricity from the grid being from guaranteed renewable sources.
The cottage has extensive views over rolling Dorset countryside towards the coast and no close neighbours. A wide variety of wildlife and birds may be seen from the house and on clear nights it is a star gazers delight. A barn owl took up residence in our owl box over the winter.
It is an ideal holiday base for a couple or a small family (max 3 adults) to explore Dorset and the Jurassic Coast, a favourite destination for travelers from around the world. We are just 4 miles from West Bay and Charmouth and Lyme Regis are nearby.
Paddocks Cottage is well situated for day trips to Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, Bournemouth, Exeter, Bath, Stonehenge, and three National Parks, Dartmoor, Exmoor and the New Forest.
There will be either a cream tea or a homemade cake awaiting you on arrival and you will find a breakfast hamper in the fridge including milk, OJ, bread, butter, homemade marmalade, mushrooms, eggs, tea, coffee and condiments. Other dietary requirements can be catered for.
There is free parking on the property well off the road. We also offer secure storage of outdoor activity equipment such as bicycles and surf boards.
Dogs are welcome but please let us know at the time of booking. We ask that your dog is not left unattended in the cottage and is supervised in the garden.
Please note that during any Covid 19 restrictions you will be asked to self check in using the key safe and we can then talk to you on the phone to welcome you.
We will also ensure a deep clean and disinfecting of all surfaces will take place between stays and where possible ensure a 24 hour break between guests’ stays.
