Once an old chapel and now converted into six apartments, Ghillie Cottage has been renovated and refurbished for 2018. The good quality finish and thoughtful decoration is evident as soon as you walk in. Downstairs you have an open plan living/dining room leading to a brand new fitted kitchen for preparing that perfect meal. A lovely spiral staircase, a real feature of the property, leads you to two bedrooms and a modern bathroom. The property sleeps up to four adults in a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, both of which have a TV and plenty of character. The property is aptly named Ghillie’s Cottage due to its links to the fishing rights on the River Derwent that are owned by the family. A ghillie being a person who acts as an attendant to someone on a hunting expedition, or in this case, a fishing trip. The River Derwent is a highly sought after river amongst anglers providing rich pickings of salmon and trout. As long as you have a National Rod Licence you may fish on the family’s beat.
