About halfway between Hillcrest and North Park centers -- You'll have the best of the two hippest villages, within walking distance!
Enjoy the quiet setting, and your large, private outdoor space, with grill, dining area and great lounge chairs. Relax in a newly renovated space where character features have been preserved -- original wood floors, built-ins, high ceilings, large windows. There's a charming clawfoot tub, if you love to soak -- but it's also a modern shower, with glass door. Emphasis on comfort, charm and serenity -- Cushy, down wrapped sofa, comfy chairs, light and clean. Zzzzzzz.....
Central heat and AC, tank-less hot water, washer and dryer, dishwasher, disposal, micro, very cool Euro gas stove (it's red!), large frig with ice maker. Cozy bistro style dining area. Relaxing living room with roomy sofa, comfy chairs, and vintage built-ins. (Plenty of seating, and a place to put your feet up.) Ample desk with work or surfing space, and a view of TV.
Queen bed, plus a queen sofa bed in living room. Walk in closet. Unique, well appointed bath -- en suite, with a second entry for others.
WIFI (100mbps) and smart cable TVs in living room and bedroom. Land line for local calls.
Stop by the North Park Nursery (garden center), less than 2 blocks away -- It's also a cafe! Enjoy a great breakfast at Breakfast Republic on University Ave. -- Also a short walk. A bit farther east, is the historic North Park Theater, now the Observatory, a live concert venue. Catch a show! Keep walking east on University, and you'll quickly reach the center of North Park, and a collection of eateries, pubs, eclectic shops, art galleries and fitness options.
Walk 3 1/2 blocks south from the house, and you'll be at Morley Field, the northeast section of Balboa Park, the site of community pool, tennis courts, golf and other recreation facilities. From there, you can hike through Florida Canyon to the zoo, museums and theaters -- or take an Uber or car for a few minutes, from the house. Downtown destinations (Gaslamp, Seaport Village, Petco Park, Little Italy) are only 5-10 minutes drive.
Stroll west on University Ave. to the Farmer's Market in Hillcrest on Sundays, 9-2, adjacent to DMV parking lot. You can grab a Sunday breakfast/brunch in Hillcrest at a cafe or while exploring the Farmer's Market (lots of ethnic food served), then walk or Uber over to the zoo, museums and park along Park Blvd.! There's lots more in Hillcrest -- if you're interested in dining, bars, cafes and shopping.
For beaches, you can't go wrong with beautiful Coronado Island -- a short, scenic trip over the bridge, about 15 minutes from the house. Go to historic, Victorian era Hotel Del Coronado, and have a wonderful day -- gorgeous beach, a promenade for walking, biking, and peddle cars along the shore, seaside restaurant and bar/lounge, nice shops, artisan pizza, homemade ice cream.
Please note: Parking is on street only. This is a residential neighborhood of primarily single family homes, so parking is readily available most of the time, but it can be a little tighter on weekends and holidays. (You may get a space right in front, or you may need to park a bit farther down the street, or on adjacent street, at times.)
