Renowned beaches such as Saunton (16 miles) and Croyde (20 miles) are within easy reach as well as Exmoor (15 miles), and close by you’ll find the town of Barnstaple (9 miles) and South Molton (7 miles) with their popular pannier markets. A short train ride from the nearby station takes you to the Tarka Trail, favoured by walkers and cyclists alike. Slightly further afield, days out include the beautiful cathedral city of Exeter (33 miles) and pretty Torbay (60 miles). You can also walk out directly from the farm across the fields and follow the footpath by the river Taw to the Rising Sun at Umberleigh (1 mile) or stroll along the quiet lanes to The Bell Inn at Chittlehampton (1.5 miles), where you can enjoy good food at both pubs.
