Summary: I love staying at the Retreat and can't wait to return again as soon as possible. The location is fantastic as the views right outside the window are awesome. Also, once you arrive, there is no need to drive anywhere as there are several walks from the door. The only place you need to drive to is Gosforth or Whitehaven for the nearest shops. However, this means that Wasedale remains relatively unspoilt as most of the people you meet are also lovers of the countryside.
