The Space:
The Cottage is located on a quaint road in the picturesque market town, Castle Cary. Many of the market town’s amenities are at your fingertips, from a lovely local pub to a quaint bookshop, Moat Garden and coffee shop. Wander down to the high street to grab morning coffee and pastries, then head back to your cottage to enjoy them in your courtyard.
Dating back to the 1800s, this is a cottage with charm and character at its heart. Step through the door and you’ll find a beautiful mixture of antique and modern furniture, natural fabrics and quirky items. The open-plan living and kitchen space is a homely spot, with original flagstone floors. Curl up on the velvet sofa with a book in hand whilst dinner’s on the go. You’ll find everything you need to cook up delicious, hearty meals. On warm days, open the French doors and let the sunshine flood in. It’s hard not to feel completely at peace here!
Spanning three floors, find a king-size master bedroom up on the first along with a family bathroom. Whilst the top floor boasts a single mezzanine bedroom in the eaves (with slightly restricted head height, perfect for children). You’re in a great spot to enjoy all that Somerset has to offer: head out for long countryside walks, do a spot of shopping at Shepton Mallet or visit the stylish Bruton for a day of galleries and good food!

Castle Cary is a historic market town in the heart of Somerset. It has a thriving weekly market on Tuesdays and a busy high street jam-packed with independent shops selling excellent local produce - a wonderful butcher, a delicious deli, art gallery, antiques shops and brilliant independent bookshop.
It is a two minute walk out into the Somerset countryside, with far-reaching views to Glastonbury Tor and beyond from the top of Lodge Hill, which overlooks the town.
The stylish Bruton is just a couple miles down the road, with Hauser + Wirth, At The Chapel and new Michelin-starred Osip. You can walk to The Newt from the cottage, and Alfred's Tower and Stourhead are a 10-minute drive.
It is also a great spot from which to explore Dorset which is 15 mins away, and the Jurassic coast which is a 45 minute drive.
Getting Around:
There are direct trains from London to Castle Cary train station, which is a 15 min walk to the cottage. Pick-ups can also be arranged. For those who are driving, the cottage is just five miles off the A303 - with parking available outside or near the cottage.
